Genius Brands International is seeking an experienced, hands-on digital marketing expert to grow awareness, engagement, and revenues for multiple kids entertainment brands. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Core Responsibilities:

  • Set and implement digital marketing strategy, and oversee day-to-day business management for Genius Brands’ digital product portfolio and marketing efforts, including but not limited to:

    • Digital marketing campaigns (i.e. sweepstakes, contests, digital ad buys, etc.)

    • Supported social media platforms (i.e. YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Musical.ly, etc.)

    • Websites and supporting digital content (i.e. games, videos, downloads, blogs, influencer content, UGC, etc.)

    • Mobile apps

  • Identify KPIs and deploy a wide range of digital marketing tactics to increase awareness & engagement of core brands, content, and consumer products among consumers.

  • Lead and/or participate in all aspects of a digital product’s lifecycle, including conception, development, publishing, distribution and marketing.

  • Successfully launch digital campaigns and products on-time and on or under budget.

  • Propose and manage budgets in the execution of digital marketing-led initiatives

  • Manage and grow relationships with key publishing, development, and platform partners.

  • Direct internal and external resources to support digital and social media marketing campaigns including priority definition, editorial review, UI/user flow, engagement methods, etc.

  • Identify, engage, contract and manage social media influencers to drive brand awareness, engagement, and ad revenues when applicable.

  • Optimize YouTube channels to grow ad revenue

  • Consult internal stakeholders to define business goals and the expected consumer needs/outcomes, KPIs and success benchmarks, and continually evaluate and optimize campaign/program results

  • Provide high-level analytics support and analysis, and if applicable, oversight of analytics-reporting agency or personnel
    Develop and maintain promotional calendar for all digital-led initiatives

  • Maintain and refresh digital products and brand collateral where needed, including website, social media, and brand decks

 Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Identify new business opportunities and models in the digital content and distribution space.

  • Perform quality assurance testing of all GBI products and forthcoming updates

  • Provide technical and/or troubleshooting assistance for all GBI owned and supported digital products

  • Document and maintain digital product-specific reference materials including publishing guides for GBI websites, active developer/provider resource list, social media account information, etc.

  • Perform regular competitive analysis

  • Manage domain registrations and hosting services for all GBI websites and digital products

  • Collaborate with internal and external resources to research and implement strategies for expansion of new and existing products (e.g. extending VOD channel to OTT)

Preferred Skills/Requirements:

  • Able to manage multiple projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment

  • Familiarity with the following platforms and software: Google AdWords, Google Analytics, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, project management software (Basecamp, Trello, etc.)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills

  • Strategic critical thinker with a strong attention to detail
    Ability to complete large volumes of work efficiently and effectively in a collaborative team environment

  • Ability to quickly learn new technology platforms

  • Ability to pull and analyze data (i.e. Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, Rentrak, etc.) to make strategic business recommendations across all GBI digital marketing channels


  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant Digital Advertising/Marketing industry experience, including hands on experience in digital media planning, marketing strategy and campaign management

  • BA/BS required in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or related field

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Digital production experience a plus

  • Interest in kids and family entertainment
