VisitBritain, the national tourism board for Great Britain have an opportunity for a Partnerships Director based in their New York City or Los Angeles office. The senior role will develop the America’s strategy and manage key account major commercial and brand partnerships in the region to extend their reach and impact across markets and customer segments, converting customer aspiration to booking.  


As part of the global partnerships team, the Partnerships Director will develop and deliver partnerships strategies and ensure corresponding objectives are met. 


Requirements


Bachelors in Communications or Marketing desirable with minimum of 5-7 years’ experience; proficient across all Microsoft Office application; excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills; strong negotiation and analytical skills; be result focused and be able to travel within the region and to the UK as need. Ability to speak and write Spanish desirable.

Job Requirements:


• Proven experience in managing partnerships with major international brands.


• Strong pitching, negotiation, & project management skills.


• Excellent verbal & written communication skills, with the ability to produce accurate reports and execute clear presentations.


• Ability to engage with and influence internal & external stakeholders at every level, with a client-oriented approach.


 


Objectives of the Role


1) Plan, develop & pitch for major partnerships (25%)


Liaising closely with the London Commercial Partnerships team:


• Use an evidence-based approach against selection criteria to identify potential partners in the region.


• Customised pitch to selected partners, including relevant liaison across all areas of the business and ensuring VB’s strategic objectives are met.


• Contract negotiation in liaison with the Legal department.


• For every partner undertake formalised kick-off meeting to agree key objectives, KPIs and measures across a range of business areas.


 


2)   Management of major partnerships (50%)


• Facilitate delivery on behalf of partner across all internal departments and with other external partners where relevant, meeting all KPIs as agreed and ensuring satisfaction of partner.


• Formal review performance of each partnership on a quarterly basis against both strategic and specific activity KPIs. 


• Risk management and issue escalation to senior management as necessary.


• Produce partner performance reports on a regular basis. 


 


3)   Financial governance (10%)


• Build an intimate knowledge of the marketplace to support regional and global decisions and investments. Ensure that key market insights are communicated to the North American and London teams.


 


4)   Global Working (10%)


 Work as part of a global partnerships team to develop & deliver the global partnerships strategy, including:


• Build close relationships with colleagues in London and around the world to exchange best practice, innovation, creativity and ensure continuous improvement.


• Maintain a culture of teamwork, achievement, accountability and outcome focus.


• Work with a collaborative team spirit focused on service delivery to both internal and external clients. 


• Attend global partnerships meetings twice a year.


• Provide regular reports and analysis on competitor activity and examples of innovative partnership models.  


 


5)   Research and insights (5%)


• Build an intimate knowledge of the marketplace to support regional and global decisions and investments. Ensure that key market insights are communicated to the central London team.


 

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Ability to engage with and influence internal & external stakeholders at every level, with a client-oriented approach.


• Bachelors in Communications or Marketing desirable, with broad understanding & knowledge of consumer marketing to


International customer segments.


• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience.


• Proficient across all Microsoft Office applications.


• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills; ability to speak and write Spanish desirable.


• Ability to travel within the region and to the UK as needed.
